Security Awareness Training, Hostile Environment Awareness Training, H.E.A.T. and numerous other terms are used to describe the basic security training NGO and humanitarian staff need while working in insecure and hostile environments.
This course is not meant to replace the important practical and skills based training that can only be delivered in a classroom or field environment. This course is meant to build a base level of competence on the core principles of security and facilitate further training such as HEAT, security management or SOP training.
This online HEAT course is based on best practice guidelines issued by ECHO and other organisations.
