Bio

Patrick Igbana has been committed to working with NGOs to deliver Development benefits to vulnerable populations in communities, for about a decade now. He combines about 15 years of experience in Public Service and more than 10 with INGOs. He has excellent skills in Technical Agricultural Production; Program Management, including Workplan development, Proposal writing, Budget Management and Report writing; Food Security and Livelihoods programming with Smallholder Farmers  (Agricultural Extension Services (Farm Field Schools); Household Economic Strengthening/ Livelihoods Diversification Strategies, and Market Access creation);  Advocacy Engagement with Stakeholders, including Senior Government Officials and Community Gatekeepers; Community Mobilization and Organizing, employing the formation of Commodity Cooperatives/ Village Savings and Loans Groups; Partnership/ Stakeholder Management; Program Monitoring and Evaluation/ Research, including Baseline Studies, Household Economic Analysis and Community Poverty Mapping, Program Impact Assessment and Market Surveys; HIV/AIDS Programming; Gender Mainstreaming (a specialist in RCA); Sub-contract engagement with partners; Capacity Building for Project and Partner staff;  Report writing; Organizing/ Facilitating partners’ Review Meetings and Trainings/ Seminars; Computer Software application in MS Office packages;  and, can speak English and Hausa Languages fluently. He is presently the Deputy Regional Food Security and Livelihoods Coordinator with Action Against Hunger (ACF), in Borno State, NE Nigeria. He was the recent past State Food Security and Livelihoods Program Coordinator for the EU-supported Oxfam’s PROACT Project in Adamawa State, Nigeria, where he works with other partners to improve food security, livelihoods and resilience of vulnerable small-scale farmers. He was awarded a Certificate of Excellence by Columbia University ICAP (Nigeria Country Office) for his outstanding contributions to HIV Programming in Nigeria in 2008.
